From the dawn of human consciousness, philosophers have been saying, "There's more to this than meets the eye." Intuitively we know this is true. Things are never as they seem. So it is with pie. Pie is a metaphor for man's climb toward perfection. Just as man's journey began in nakedness and ignorance and has progressed ever upward, so pie began as nothing but a humble expedient used to convey perishable food from place to place and has now risen to the loftiest eschelor of man made food. Come along as we embark on a year long journey to discover the most exalted examples of the pie makers' art.
