"You are My Sunshine" is one of America's best loved songs.  Jimmie Davis and Charlie Mitchell are credited with writing this feel good masterpiece by some music historians say Ollie Hood is the real composer.  Even so, when Jimmie Davis was running for Govenor of Lousiana, he puncuated his speeches with rousing renditions of this great song.  Some say that's what got him elected.  Probably the most widely known version is the one featured in the film "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou."  This is the first song I sang for my sweetheart Mary.
